FAQ

What kinds of problems should I tackle? I'm lost!

Try the UN Development Goals website for ideas. Think big, and think impactful.

What is the overall division? Can I win it?

If you sign up for 3 or more divisions, you're automatically entered. Your average score across your divisions will be your overall score. (And no, it's not edible.)

I created a project this semester for class or a club or for fun, can I use that project?

Yes, absolutely!!! That's the idea, to show off cool things you've made!

How do I enroll in the overall division (which has the biggest prizes)?

If you apply to the 3 or more divisions (Science, Tech, Engineer, etc…), you automatically get enrolled in the overall division. Your average score for each division you enter is your overall score. If you do not win in the overall division, you can still win in the individual divisions.

Q: How will prizes work?

Each entry will receive prizes based on its performance. If you're entering as a group, it's up to your team to divvy up prizes.

Can I win more than one division/prize?

Unfortunately, no. You may only win one of the individual divisions or win the overall (which is what you want).

I am a part of a team, but there is only one prize (or fewer prizes than team members). Can I have more?

No. Your team is responsible for the dividing of the prizes.

That was a lot of words. Can I have some project examples?

Science: Experiment on stress' contributions to tumor progression
Technology: Student-made video games
Engineering: Road redesigns of Route 60
Entrepreneur: Homework helper, stock trading program
Equity: Proposal for ending child marriage
Arts: Pending
Math: Pending
